Normalised provider profile
IGEL
IGEL develops a software platform for secure endpoints and digital workspaces. Read-only, Linux-based IGEL OS 12 provides the foundation; the Universal Management Suite (UMS) centrally manages devices, policies, configurations and updates. UMSaaS adds a cloud service operated by IGEL, while the App Portal delivers applications separately from the operating system. The platform provides access to SaaS, virtual desktops, cloud PCs and enterprise browsers. Citrix, Microsoft, Omnissa and Island supply the respective partner platforms. Managed Hypervisor addresses local virtual machines and legacy IT/OT applications; Managed Containers extends the offering to centrally governed container workloads at the edge. Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery, dual boot and UD Pocket support alternative access during Windows disruptions. Advanced Services, Technical Relationship Management and training support deployment and operations. Typical settings include healthcare, public administration, financial services, retail and manufacturing. Selection requires assessment of hardware and peripheral compatibility, app availability, licensing scope, identity integration, self-managed UMS versus UMSaaS and regularly tested recovery procedures. Security and compliance requirements must be assessed within the actual overall system.
